Brian is responsible for organizational leadership and execution of the business’s mission and strategic initiatives while steering the organization towards the achievement of its overall vision of a transformed Africa.
Before founding BlueInventure, Brian performed various roles the SME ecosystem in SME banking and microfinance, technology and consumer discretionary goods.
Brian is most passionate about problem-solving and also passionate about people, sports and the arts.
Jeff is responsible for leading the successful execution of all BlueInventure advisory projects. Jeff applies creativity, rigor and collaboration to enable African businesses to identify opportunities as well as plan and execute pivotal business growth. His work involves stimulating productivity, performance and growth by blending technology, finance and execution of strategies to create new opportunities for businesses.
Before joining BlueInventure, Jeff worked in financial and consulting services in different capacities including operations management and business development at NIC Bank; as well as providing business consulting, financial management and market research for a local consulting firm.
Jeff is passionate about nurturing ideas and sparking innovations that drive momentous economic transformation in Africa. Outside of work, Jeff is an avid musician who enjoys the fusion of afro sounds with contemporary jazz, pop and rock. You can catch him singing and playing keyboard and the bass.
Chief Enabler – Strategy, Business Development and Growth
Sam is responsible for directing and developing the strategy, business development and growth initiatives for the organization. He also takes a lead role in supporting the building of business development and strategic partnerships to create new business opportunities for the company.
Sam is a strategy and investment advisory professional with over 10 years of experience in agribusiness and SME finance, impact investment and business advisory with a focus on manufacturing, trade, agribusiness, energy, hospitality and business services. He has worked in senior roles with organizations such as Equity Bank, GT Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Hivos Foundation, Chase Bank and Deutsche Asset Management in the East and South African regions. He is also a board member of the Economics Projects Trust Fund and Act!, both in Nairobi Kenya
Sam is passionate about leveraging the power of entrepreneurship through increased access to capacity and capital by SMEs to fuel sustainable growth and development in Africa.
Joy is part of the Strategy, Business Development and Growth team at BlueInventure. She is responsible for directing and developing the go-to-market strategy of the organization, in close collaboration with other units, to enable BlueInventure to identify, target and deliver appropriate solutions to the addressable SME market.
Prior to joining BlueInventure, Joy worked for an SME advisory consultant with Apex Capital Group in South Africa. She has also worked in increasingly responsible roles in the ICT, airline and commercial banking sectors with companies such as Kenya Airways, Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered in Kenya in various capacities focusing on business development and corporate relationship management.
Joy is passionate about creating transformation through supporting entrepreneurs to build more sustainable enterprises. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and volunteering her skills to causes such as women empowerment and mentorship of at-risk girls among others.
Lynette enables BlueInventure to position itself in the right place and at the right time for entrepreneurs to access our proposition and to help us promote transformation. She creates, monitors and adjusts sales strategies and budgets while looking for new leads or new ideas to re-engage current prospects and move them through the sales funnel. Lynette also continuously mentors and coaches the sales team keeping them motivated, engaged and focused on reaching entrepreneurs all over Kenya.
Lynette is a business development professional with prior experience in developing and implementing sales strategies, client relations, market research and brand building. Prior to BlueInventure, she worked for Tecno Mobile through Afmobi & Eunique Africa.
Lynette is passionate about being an impactful leader in all she does while working with entrepreneurs. Outside work, Lynette supports her family in managing their business portfolio together with spending time with her child whom she envisions to grow and be impactful in all her roles.
Tabitha enables and supports BlueInventure’s office Administrator in handling customers and managing their queries as well as assisting visitors to the company’s headquarters. Her work also includes maintaining office supplies by managing stock, anticipating requirements, placing and expediting orders and delivering supplies to workstations.
Before joining BlueInventure, Tabitha conducted administrative and customer service duties at Transallied Ltd., which included organizing and managing the front office desk, managing client registration processes and customer queries across various channels, managing stock inventory and analyzing records, data entry, managing petty cash and balancing cashbooks.
Tabitha is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs to scale the heights against existing odds. Outside work, Tabitha loves helping the needy in the society by participating in charity events and church led initiatives. She also loves cleaning, which she intends to turn into a profitable venture, and engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking on the slopes of Mt. Longonot.
Stephanie is part of the Enablement Services team within BlueInventure and is primarily tasked with creating and preserving a conducive working environment with a focus on driving productivity within the various teams. She does this by ensuring there is effective operation within the office, providing support for the organization’s various departments and encouraging the productivity and satisfaction of the staff. Her other tasks include planning, procurement and customer care beyond providing general administrative support to team members.
Prior to BlueInventure, Stephanie worked with Lapid Leaders as a Careers Hub Director where she was able to place candidates according to their profession in different organizations seeking employees with leadership and entrepreneurship skills.
Stephanie is passionate about enabling BlueInventure’s staff effectively deliver on their mandate of supporting SMES to create business success and impact in society. Outside of work, Stephanie loves trying out new food recipes and volunteering her skills at a children’s home.
Nathaniel develops and implements customer experience strategies to deliver successful experiences at every point in a customer’s interaction with BlueInventure. His work includes organizing, planning and monitoring all processes to ensure the customer is the central focus from development to delivery of BlueInventure’s value proposition.
Before joining BlueInventure, Nathaniel spent more than 7 years in customer service in the global medical tourism, e-commerce and FMCG industries. He helped Kilimall Kenya set up its customer service unit which saw increased customer handling capacity, improved quality of service and case management. He also formulated a Kenya market penetration strategy for PlacidWay LLC, a global medical tourism company where he also supervised patient coordinators covering the EMEA region. He is also an entrepreneur who operates a residential and commercial cleaning company.
Nathaniel is passionate about enabling entrepreneurs to better serve their customers and make informed decisions that are data-driven to ensure sustainable growth of their ventures. Outside of work, Nathaniel loves spending time with his family, cleaning and serving at his local church.
Nancy works within the BlueInventure Enablement Services team as the Finance and Administration Officer. She is primarily responsible for providing management reports aimed at helping senior management make sound business decisions beyond handling the finance and accounting functions.
Prior to BlueInventure, Nancy worked in a similar role in finance and administration. She has developed expertise in budgeting, financial management and reporting, statutory management and tax planning, as well as bookkeeping. She also has developed strong relationships with banks, auditors, suppliers and customers.
Nancy is passionate about her work and works collaboratively with the team to analytically solve challenges and enable smooth running of operations within BlueInventure.
Michelle is a Business Analyst within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs. She also undertakes other tasks within the Business Development and Enablement Services departments.
Prior to BlueInventure, Michelle, worked in procurement and supply chain management at Kenya Power focusing on streamlining the procurement processes. She has also served at Lapid Leaders Africa as the President of the Learning Labs where she managed to restructure the docket and introduce design thinking workshops, which are now part of the entrepreneurship lab.
Michelle is passionate about leadership and bringing out the best in others. Outside of BlueInventure, she loves dancing salsa and singing as well as sometimes modelling. She is a Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumni.
Mark is an Associate within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team and primarily focuses on project design, project management and implementation of SME focused initiatives. He is also involved in the design and deployment of tailor-made solutions to clients.
Prior to BlueInventure, Mark worked as a research consultant for Population Services International carrying out health research in rural areas of Kenya. He also worked for the UN Environment Programme focusing on finance and budgeting in the Office for Operations. Prior to that, he worked in market research at ConsumerPro Limited covering a wide range of market research projects in Nairobi.
Mark is passionate about poverty alleviation in Africa, especially Kenya. Mark believes through his input in enabling SMEs to grow and reach their potential, there will be an impact on people’s economic lives through increased job creation, sustainable incomes for families and development in Kenya and Africa as a whole.
Lucy is a Senior Associate within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, responsible for providing growth strategy and innovative solutions to SMEs and is largely responsible for coordinating client engagement activities for effective service delivery.
Prior to BlueInventure, Lucy worked in value chain development, focusing on creating resilient enterprises which can seize market share, obtain financing and spawn innovation. She has worked with the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) under EUs ASMPEP project, where 10 collection centres were able to scale revenue and operations efficiency, with Tech4Trade and also as a manager of the award-winning FinGRO project.
Lucy is passionate about mountaineering and is always looking out for opportunities to hike and camp in altitudes higher than usual.
JoyAnne is a Business Analyst within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs. She also develops corporate social responsibility initiatives at BlueInventure aimed at enabling staff contributions towards positive change in society.
Prior to BlueInventure, JoyAnne worked in customer service where she improved customer care satisfaction while also helping up-sell products to generate incremental revenue. She also worked at an NGO that uses innovation advocacy and grassroots mobilization within a human rights-based framework to foster healthy, just and violence-free communities for women and children in Kenya. She took part in a joint project to help domestic violence victims get the help they needed.
JoyAnne is passionate about working with people and empowering them to be the best version of themselves. She is particularly passionate about helping communities ensure sustainable growth and development both at a personal level and as a society. Outside of BlueInventure, JoyAnne is a volunteer at a mentorship program for young adults of leadership and entrepreneurship skills, which equips them to be value-driven leaders in the marketplace.
Jordan is an Associate within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team and works on various client assignments that enable businesses to create or maximize value by leveraging his competence in business analysis and strategic thinking.
Prior to joining BlueInventure, Jordan spent two years in sales and marketing supporting businesses in West Africa. Jordan has also written articles focused on the best ways to trigger change not only in Kenya but across the African continent.
Jordan is passionate about coordinating initiatives with others and bringing creativity out of every opportunity. He is service oriented and always interested in understanding businesses and helping them thrive in the market. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys singing and building bonds of friendship.
Joan is a Business Analyst within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs.
Prior to BlueInventure, Joan was undertaking her studies and graduated with a degree in BCOM, Finance from Strathmore University. She has also worked with Co-operative Bank of Kenya in the credit administration department.
Joan is passionate about physical and tactile experiences and enjoys figuring out how things work. Outside of work, Joan spends time helping those in need, travelling and doing crafts.
Joan is a Business Analyst within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs.
Prior to BlueInventure, Joan worked with an insurance company in the finance and accounts department where she handled tasks such as customer service, bank reconciliations and account receivables management. She has also participated in various initiatives focused on community service across the country.
Joan is passionate about leveraging her finance and accounting background in enabling SMEs to improve their performance through application of better financial management principles. Outside of work, Joan loves spending time with family and friends.
Hellen is responsible for steering the people strategy and long-term vision for growing BlueInventure talent through partnering with leadership to make data-driven decisions that impact people while maintaining a high-performance culture.
Hellen started her career 11 years ago in sales at Barclays Bank of Kenya, eventually becoming part of the team that set up the first ever customer retention department responsible for managing the bank’s portfolio of card customers. Hellen made a career move four years ago to focus on her passion, which is people. She has worked at both Andela and One Acre Fund where she created and implemented policies and structures in those companies’ people and operations functions respectively.
She is passionate about helping people navigate their careers with ease through her company Career Haven, which offers career coaching services for professionals.
Fidelis is part of the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team and is responsible for supporting the development and management of knowledge resources, research and advisory tools to support client assignments.
Prior to BlueInventure, Fidelis was enrolled in the Lapid Leaders Africa Program through which she learned important skills in leadership and entrepreneurship and was able to strengthen her entrepreneurial skills and engage in volunteer activities at Cheryl’s Children’s Home & Learning Centre, a registered NGO that works to meet the needs of children and marginalized communities in Kenya.
Fidelis is passionate about enabling SMEs to understand where opportunities exist for them to innovate and win in their markets. Outside of work, Fidelis loves reading, crocheting, bike riding and great food.
Harriet works within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team where she is involved in projects providing growth strategy and innovation solutions to enable entrepreneurs to win against the odds they face in their markets.
Prior to BlueInventure, Harriet worked in human resources at the Kenya Revenue Authority where she oversaw data management, processing of payroll and performance management for the internship program. She has also taken part in community service at Central Girl’s School where she worked with children.
Harriet is passionate about transforming and touching lives around her. She believes that entrepreneurship can be a force for transforming Africa. Outside of work, she enjoys writing, travelling and trying out new recipes.
Franklin is an Associate in the Service Delivery and Projects team where he is responsible for supporting the senior team in managing client advisory assignments with groups of business analysts.
Prior to BlueInventure, Franklin worked in the media and healthcare sectors in various roles in research, operations, finance and accounting. During this period, he also supported organizations in restructuring people management functions and developing market-relevant processes.
Franklin is passionate about making an impact on business. He understands the challenges and opportunities that SMEs in Africa deal with and recognizes what it takes to make the SME thrive. Outside of work, he is a lover of music and its influence on culture.
Eric is involved in developing and coordinating BlueInventure’s internal and external training programs delivered through The SME Business School, BlueInventure’s competency-based training arm. He is also currently the Project Manager for the BlueInventure Process Improvement Initiative.
Prior to BlueInventure, Eric spent more than 10 years in various industries as a trainer and business manager involved in business development, administration and corporate affairs, marketing and sales.
Eric is passionate about people, so any opportunity to interact with SMEs is enjoyable. Outside of work, Eric loves spending time with his family and serving at his local church including leading initiatives involving fathers and their children.
Emma is a Business Analyst within the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs. She has also been involved in mapping out processes within the organization to support smooth operations among other key projects.
Prior to BlueInventure, Emma worked with clients on e-banking using Spot Cash, a mobile payment platform, managing clients’ records, opening accounts and analyzing customers’ financial records.
Emma is passionate about helping the less fortunate in society, participating in volunteering activities such as teaching and mentoring and enabling entrepreneurs to grow. Outside of work, she enjoys knitting floor mats, travelling and hiking.
Damaris is part of the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs. She also develops corporate social responsibility initiatives at BlueInventure aimed at enabling staff to contribute towards positive change in society.
Prior to BlueInventure, Damaris worked as an accountant and finance officer at one of the largest paediatric hospitals in Kenya as well as at a local non-governmental organization. She devised a plan for teachers in the NGO, with minimal accounting experience, to budget for their term needs and thus ease cash disbursement for the organization.
Damaris is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs to win in the marketplace. She is also passionate about putting together team building events for youth to build meaningful relationships and enjoys engaging in initiatives aimed at the improvement of the quality of life for the destitute.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Officer
Prior to joining BlueInventure, he was as a project manager and community mobilizer at the Inclusive Education Project, a pilot project by the Life Ministry International and International Aid Services in Garissa Kenya that later won funding for upscaling the initiative. Before that he was an apprentice at several leading organizations such as the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Tonny is passionate about change that is spurred by knowledge.
Antony is part of the BlueInventure Service Delivery and Projects team, which provides growth strategy and innovation advisory to entrepreneurs. He also champions wellness activities for the organization’s staff.
Prior to BlueInventure, Antony worked in procurement and supply chain management at Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and was involved in prequalification of potential suppliers, analysis and evaluation of quotations and management of inventory. He helped develop a comprehensive prequalification list of various goods, services and works.
Antony is passionate about enabling entrepreneurs create success in their businesses. Outside of work, Antony loves doing community service and working out.
